Rock beds made sense at some point - low maintenance, no watering needed. But over time they heat up, collect debris, and start looking more dated than intentional. Swapping them out for fresh mulch is one of the simplest upgrades you can make to the front of a home, and the difference is pretty immediate.

Here's what we were working with: existing rock beds that had run their course. We pulled everything out, cleaned up the beds, and laid fresh mulch throughout. The result is a warmer, more finished look that actually complements the home rather than competing with it. The curved edging along the lawn line keeps things clean and defined without feeling rigid.

Mulch does more than just look good, too. It retains moisture, suppresses weeds, and breaks down over time to feed the soil. That means less watering, fewer weeds to pull, and healthier plants in the long run. For a front yard bed with established plants and trees, it's a genuinely low-effort way to cut down on ongoing maintenance.

What really sells this kind of work is how it ties the whole front of the property together. The lawn, the plantings, the walkway - they all read better when the beds are clean and consistent. It stops looking like a yard that just happened and starts looking like something that was actually thought through.

If your front beds have been on your mind - whether they're full of rock, old mulch, or just not looking the way you want - a fresh garden bed install is usually more straightforward than people expect. We handle the removal, the prep, and the install so you're not spending a weekend doing it yourself.
